Accepting yourself, finding peace - a resource

Published about 2 months ago • 1 min read

Hi Reader,

A few months ago, I signed up for a bundle (as I do, I just love a bunch of internet goodies!). This one was a fun mix of business resources and self-care, self-love, woo woo and more. I loved it.

One of the coolest gifts was from my new internet friend Arien. She talks a lot about soul care, or going beyond self-care to heal, connect with ourselves, and restore and replenish the soul.

She is a therapist and talks a lot about trauma (both big T and little t trauma). She’s a yoga teacher and believes in mind, body, and soul care for healing (top down and bottom up approaches). I’ve learned so much from her course and from being on her list.

So, a few months ago, I reached out to her. I wanted to share her wisdom, training, ideas and tips with you. And she agreed.

She’s sharing her “Accepting Yourself, Finding Peace” guide with us. It’s a resource to help quiet the mental noise and let go of self-judgment so you can tap into self-worth.

Arien created this guide to:

  • How to stay centered, grounded & calm: Even when it feels like there’s a storm swirling around you, so you can stop feeling hijacked by every force around you.
  • A simple breathwork tool: Positively impact your daily peace with one simple shift that is free and easily accessible to you no matter where you are.
  • A mindfulness exercise: To connect with your body and improve your sense of calm so you can confidently move through your day.
  • Deeper self-awareness: Questions to ask yourself to dig deeper and get clarity so you can let go of self-judgment and finally be okay with who you are.

It’s good. And I’m excited to share it with you. Take a look here.

PS If you want to know a little more about Arien, she’s:

  • Dog lover with two dogs, a Chocolate Lab, Kona and a Golden Retriever, Taco
  • Loves laughing, tacos, and rap/hip hop music, especially 90's era
  • Lover of many HBO series and documentaries, especially true crime.
  • She’s not a believer of toxic positivity
  • She’s realistic, with a heavy side of woo
  • She doesn’t believe in debating people's humanity, she believes in supporting it

Hi Reader, I love bundles. I've been introduced to some amazing content creators, ideas, and resources from the bundles I've signed up for and the ones I've contributed to. The Joyful Mamas, Joyful Kiddos bundle is no different. Elizabeth, from Discovery Play with Littles (a great resource if you're looking for simple and engaging activities for little ones) put together this bundle to help time-starved mamas relieve stress, find time for themselves, and keep their little ones busy (just in...

Hi there Reader, A few months ago, we had quite a bit of drywall damage throughout the house. Slowly (vvvvvery slowly), I’m taping, priming, and finally painting. I’ve been chipping away at this project a few hours at a time while my kids are out of the house. In some ways, it’s meditative. The sound the brush makes, the look of the new paint, the ache in my arms as I reach the ceiling. In other ways, it's a forced mindfulness. I have a hard time paying attention to what I’m doing. When I...
